The fundamental step toward winning grants is to develop a Funding Strategy, where we determine three things: the problem, the solution and the budget. We then research hundreds of grants and other funding options to maximize your chances of success with funders who are the strongest match for your project. We develop a list of the top 10-20 best grant funding opportunities, then reach out to the funders themselves with a Prospectus of your organization in order to filter those down to the top 2-5 best matches.
In the Prosptectus phase of the funding strategy we develop an overview of your organization that allows potential funders to quickly and easily understand who you are and what problems your organization is trying to solve. We partner with you to reach out to the top handful of funders on our funding strategy list with your prospectus to determine if there is alignment between your mission and theirs. We listen carefully to their feedback and move forward with either applying for that grant or shelving that option for now. This eliminates tons of wasted time and allows for complete focus on the best grant matches to apply for.
We finalize it all in a custom Funding Strategy Package and present it to you. You can the turn that over to your in-house staff as a guide, or work with a grant writer, such as those in Grantpointe.
Successful grant writing is all about great project management. We start with a kick-off meeting where we meet with you and your staff to gain a clear understanding of exactly what is needed for that particular grant. We move into developing a budget and a narrative, then into filling out the actual grant application. This process takes around eight to twelve weeks prior to the application deadline, depending on the type of grant and how quickly your organization can provide us with what we need to complete it.
After we finalize the application package, we ask you for a review and sign off. The grant application is then ready to be submitted to the funder.
